Our Story

Coffee has always been a big part of our home. It is what we gather around, what we look forward to in the morning, and the comfort we reach for during busy days. For years, we joked about how fun it would be to share that love with others, and eventually that small idea became something real. That is how Bayou Barista was born.

We are Cathi and Jared Soileau. Both of us are from Lafayette, but Jared spent several years in Italy while his Navy family was stationed there. Being surrounded by Italian espresso culture at a young age shaped the way he sees and appreciates coffee, and that passion came back home with him.

When we started Bayou Barista, we combined Jared’s early espresso influence with our Acadiana roots to create a brand that feels familiar and grounded. Warm. Local. Simple. Fresh. Everything we roast is made here in Acadiana because we want you, your family, and your friends to enjoy the best cup possible.

Coffee is more than a drink for us. It is part of our day, and part of what brings people together. We even look forward to that first cup before going to sleep at night. If you know, you know.
